Definition:this is a recently used technique to remove bacteria and decay / stain from and around the tooth / restorations;, this method does not involve the use of a drill Air abrasion substance is made up of fine particles, which consist of silica, aluminium oxide or a mixture with baking soda. The substance is sprayed on to the teeth by using compressed air, although some are made up of gas as well. When the air abrasion hits the decay it removes small particles at a time, giving the tooth a deep clean.
