Decay
Definition: It is caused when deposits of plaque are collected usually around the gum line, the edges of fillings and the ridged surfaces / contact point of the teeth.
Plaques are made up of bacteria that are normally already in the mouth, food remains, and saliva.Over time, if the plaque collected still remains in its position, it will harden and turn into tartar.
Both tarter and plaque contain acid, that with time can dissolve away the solid enamel that coats the tooth and create holes and cavities.
Cavities are something that is formed over a period of months or even years. They can go unnoticed for a while and with the time passing by it can grow in size
