The difference with the BriteSmile gel is that it contains a photo-activated component that reacts to the specific wavelength of the light creating free radicals, which enhances the oxidation process. It should be pointed out that some stains, though reduced cannot be removed entirely i.e. tetracycline, fluorosis & myosin. Nicotine staining may mask the effects of the bleaching and a regular visit to the hygienist is advised. A bleaching consultation is highly recommended in order to asses which technique best suits your requirements.
