The Ways Oral Hygiene Treatment Can Spring Clean Your Mouth

shutterstock_555241741Spring is just around the corner, and what better time to ramp up your oral hygiene regime and give those pearly whites a good clean? Here are some simple tips to make your smile sparkle this spring:

Oral hygiene treatments

At Baker Street Dental, we have an expert team of dental hygienists on hand to provide a range of cleaning treatments. Our aim is to prevent dental health issues, and give you a healthy, attractive smile, which makes you feel confident. Booking a dental hygiene session will not only reduce your risk of developing gum disease and decay dramatically. It can also make a miraculous difference to the look of your smile. Dental hygienists use powerful cleaning techniques and the latest technology and equipment to achieve a much more intensive, deeper clean than you get at home. They can remove plaque, and shift surface stains, to give you a beautiful, healthy smile. Even if you don’t have existing dental health problems, we strongly recommend routine appointments with our hygiene team.

Brushing at home

As well as seeing your dentist and a dental hygienist on a regular basis, it’s also essential to keep tabs on your oral hygiene regime at home. Adopting a good dental care routine will reduce your risk of dental disease, and keep your smile looking radiant.
We recommend:

  • Brushing twice a day using fluoride toothpaste
  • Choosing a brush with a small head and soft-medium bristles
  • Brushing for at least 2 minutes each time
  • Using circular motions
  • Spending 30 seconds on each quadrant of the mouth
  • Brushing gently
  • Brushing your tongue
  • Flossing daily
  • Replacing your toothbrush or toothbrush head every 3 months
