Three Dental Seminars to be Hosted by Dental Education Provider

A dental education provider is hosting 3 seminars this month in Australia.

Power2B Dental provide continuing education, dental and practice management seminars to the dental profession. The aim is to further knowledge and keep dentists up to date with the latest practices in both surgery and surgery management.

Called the Christensen Bottom Line seminars after the owner of the business – Dr. Gordon Christensen – the tutorials focus on those things that tend to change the most in dentistry. What’s more, the organisers believe that the best way to impart relevant information is via humour. Consequently, the focus is not just on learning new skills and knowledge but also having fun at the same time.

In associated news, the University of New Jersey Medical and Dental Faculty are in negotiations with a private health business to hand over the Newark University hospital to a private provider.

The ongoing talks are being kept secret from both the health workers and the trade unions. The latter are particularly concerned as to what will happen to the 3,000 employees if this hospital is privatised.

However, the University negotiators believe this sell off is the best way to preserve the employees’ jobs as well as securing the independence of the Newark medical school.

But speaking with reporters, Jeanne Otersen the policy director for the Health Professionals and Allied Health Employees union said: “University Hospital is a public asset, paid for by taxpayers. Yet these negotiations are being treated as a private matter. We need greater transparency.”

By contrast, one Democratic senator believes that while he has some sympathy with the trade union’s view, he also feels that the sell off could be a better alternative. This belief was also supported by a fellow Democratic senator, Joseph Vitale who said: “St. Barnabas has a record of running a good hospital. University Hospital is always under the gun. It’s had deficits, but they’ve been covered by the medical school.”
